July 1, 2008 Been a LONG time since any updates. Recently posted a new song in the music section. Just played drums on this one. It was for a producer friend of mine by the name of Brian White. The artist is Joshua Armstrong. I have a lot more exciting updates and postings in the next few weeks. November 12, 2007 So a new project that I am doing with a good friend on mine is finally up and running. Along with Timo Preece aka Gravity Terminal, I have formed Lucid Mechanism which is a group with heavy electronica elements. Though we are only a duo we are creating a lot of noise. I am playing V-Drums exclusively and Timo is playing an assortment of stuff via Ableton Live. We have a Myspace Page (gee who doesn't!). September 7, 2007 Added some tracks in the music section. Both of the tracks I served as recording engineering for drums and also for bass guitar for one of them. First one is from Scott Woods, a great singer and guitar player from Marin. This track has the great Dennis Chambers playing drums and Myron Dove producing. It was a great tracking date a few months back. The second one is an instrumental track from Lindsey Boullt. Quite the progressive rock track, it features Atma Anur on drums and Jon Herrera on bass, both of whom I had the pleasure of tracking. Other notable musicians on this particular album are Stu Hamm, Derek Sherinian and Jerry Goodman. Great record. July 24, 2007 Quite some time since the last update. Few things to mention of the haps from the last few months. Squaretape was the winner of the "ing Bay to Breakers Battle of the Bands" competition. As the winners we got to perform in front 20,000 plus people at Golden Gate Park opening for Cracker. The band has been doing well in terms of better gigs and greater exposure. In October we get to open for TUBES in Modesto. We are currently planning on recording a new three song demo which we will try to use to sign to an indie label of some sort. Just trying to move higher up on the food chain. On the teaching front, been at Future Rhythm since the beginning of the year and am really enjoying the classes I teach. Mostly teaching Pro Tools certified classes but we are adding new ones in the upcoming months. I'll be teaching a new engineering and recording class in August as well as a"Producing with Reason" class. Also a few new projects I've been involved with on the recording end. First one is by an artist out of Half Moon Bay by the name of Heather Rose. She is a young female singer-songwriter with a Americana-folk-rock sound. I'm mostly helping her in the recording process at her home studio so she can finish the project by the end of August. At the end of September I'll begin a new project with Christian pop artist Scott Primeau where I'll be handling recording and mixing duties. Drumming wise, played on a few sessions for some friends of mine. One was at Coast Recorders for my friend Matt Donner for a upcoming song on his album. I'll be doing more of those in September. Also worked on a song for my producer friend Brian White where I simply played my V-Drums at home and sent him a MIDI file of my performance. Crazy how this recording stuff works sometimes. Speaking of V-Drums, doing a cool performance in August with my friend Timo (aka Gravity Terminal) where we are playing electronica music as a duo. Breaking out the V-Drums for that. Good stuff. Lastly, made a new addition to the music section on the web site. Just got the CD from LiV and posted the track "Yesuah Be My Love" that I mixed on that album. Til next time.
